When Stillness Becomes a Way Home – Saskia’s Story from Mia’s Meditation Retreat

There are moments in life when we step away from the noise of everyday life and meet something deeper within ourselves. For Saskia, who lives in Storlien in northern Sweden, a week at Mia Lehndal’s meditation retreat became exactly such a turning point.

In the middle of her own 100‑day challenge in meditation and yoga – some days filled with two hours of practice, others with just a single conscious breath – she realized something that has stayed with her ever since:

“Not a day goes by without me returning to what I learned with Mia.”

A week of self‑care – maybe for the first time ever

Saskia describes the retreat as one of the most loving and caring weeks she has ever given herself. Seven days of listening closely to her body, her breath, and the subtle sensations that usually get lost in daily life.

In that softness, something unexpected emerged: Self‑love. Intimacy. A sense of coming home.

“It was pure magic and bliss,” she says. “What I had longed for from others suddenly began to arise from within.”

Clarity, joy, and human warmth

The retreat offered her not only stillness and inner grounding – but also community and joy. She remembers inspiring conversations, silence that held her, warm hugs, shared sauna sessions, cold dips, and meals that tasted extra delicious.

It’s this combination of deep presence and human warmth that makes Mia’s retreats so unique. A place where participants can both rest and grow, both land and expand.

Guidance that follows you home

One of the things Saskia highlights most is Mia’s way of teaching: simple, clear, and deeply experienced. Guidance that doesn’t end when the retreat ends, but continues into the small moments of everyday life.

“When I’m stuck in a boring situation, I just move my pelvis a little – and everything shifts.”

This is the essence of Mia’s work: giving people practical, embodied, soulful tools that actually work in real life.

A place that holds you – and a teacher who sees you

Saskia also sends warm gratitude to Humlebäck, the place where the retreat is held. A setting that invites safety, exploration, and rest.

And to Mia:

“Thank you for your knowledge born from deep experience. Thank you for holding, guiding, and supporting – again and again.”

The beginning of something new

For Saskia, the retreat became the best possible start to the new year. A return to her body, to joy, to herself.

And she ends with a wish shared by many participants: “I hope I can come back next year.”
